SWISS SOLAR QUARTZ
We build watches for the real world. Watches that take the knocks, the rain, and the occasional unscheduled swim without sulking. That reliability starts at the heart of every Ontic: the Swiss-made Ronda Solartech 215. It’s a solar-powered quartz calibre built for accuracy, toughness and long life. The kind of movement you can forget about because it just works.
WHY QUARTZ?
Mechanical watches are lovely things. But gears and springs are delicate by nature, and need daily wear or winding to keep them going.
Quartz, on the other hand, is the stoic workhorse of timekeeping. It keeps time to within a few seconds a month, shrugs off shocks and temperature swings, and doesn’t care whether you’re in the boardroom or the backcountry. For a proper tool watch, quartz is the logical choice.

WHY SOLAR?
Solar quartz adds another level of freedom. Light (sunlight, lamplight, even that awful strip lighting at work) charges a lithium cell under the dial. A full charge keeps it running for around eight months, even in the dark. No battery swaps, no waste, no drama. And if you do somehow manage to lock it in the dark for months, one minute in daylight will wake it up again. In short: it looks after itself so you don’t have to.
ABOUT RONDA
Ronda has been quietly keeping the Swiss watch industry on time since the 1940s. They don’t make watches themselves, just the movements that make other people’s watches tick. Their Solartech series is the culmination of decades of Swiss perfectionism: five-jewels, gold-plated internals, and a reputation running forever without complaint.

BUILT FOR THE REAL WORLD
The Ronda 215 is rated for operating temperatures between 0 and 50 °C, shock resistance to NIHS 91-10 standards, and magnetic resistance of 18.8 Oe. Housed in a TiX Titanium case, it’s light, unflappable, and (nearly) indestructible.
