Hi. I'm John, founder of Ontic
I live in Hebden Bridge, high up in the Pennines in the north of England. It’s a place of rough weather and stubborn grit, and that outlook has shaped the way Ontic watches are built.
Before Ontic I volunteered with Mountain Rescue. Nights out on the moors in rain, snow, and fog taught me a lesson: when you need your gear, it has to work. No fuss, no gimmicks, no second chances.
That’s why I started Ontic. I was tired of watches that looked good but couldn’t be trusted when it mattered. So we design and assemble ours here in Britain with a no-nonsense approach: tough, functional, and dependable. Built to last, and built with proper support behind them. Nothing ornamental. Nothing disposable. Just watches made to do their job, properly.
